Organisation

Représentant: Jean-Michel MOREAU

Three teams are partially implied in the PRIMES project:

1.            SAARA (Simulation, Analysis, Animation for Augmented Reality)- (Leader: Saida Bouakaz) : simulation, analysis and animation of complex scenes implying human, with an orientation on augmented reality environments: capture, analysis, transfer of geometric, photometric, kinematic parameters of moving humans seen by images sensors (video, photos); simulation of interaction/behavior/deformation of human organs based on physical models. The team is applying these approaches in many multi-disciplinary domains.

2.            GéoMod (Geometric Modeling) (Leader: Raphaëlle Chaine)- algorithms and data structures related to geometric modeling. The main research topics of GeoMod are: modeling of complex natural scenes and ecosystem simulation, 3D shape reconstruction, combinatorial aspect of compression, interactive visualization and (very large) mesh generation.

3.            M2DISCO (Modèles multi-résolution discrets combinatoires) (Leader: David Coeurjolly): development of discrete and combinatorial multi-resolution models from image data, 3D volumes or 3D meshes and exploiting methods from combinatorial optimisation, computational and discrete geometry.

Axe(s) de recherche

The LIRIS laboratory (UMR 5205), distributed in the Lyon area over four sites (Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1, Université Lumière Lyon 2, INSA de Lyon, École Centrale de Lyon) conducts researches on two major thematic departments: "Image" and "Data, Knowledge, Services". The researchers involved in this Labex all come from the Image department which includes a large number of teams in the areas of computer graphics, computational geometry, mesh creation, optimisation and manipulation techniques, geometric or biomechanical modeling and video tracking of movements.
