In the “image processing group” of the image processing/computer science/telecom department (Project Leader: Catherine Menessier), researches have been involved in the project “Models and methods for image reconstruction” gathering researchers working in X-ray computed tomography, digital holography, image deconvolution and denoising, handled in the framework of inverse problems. Two ANR projects focus on biomedical imaging : ToRIID 2006-2009 (computed tomography for interventional dynamic imaging), and MiTiV 2009-2013 (biomedical image reconstruction by inverse methods). Through these projects, workgroups on computed tomography reconstruction have been created with CREATIS and Léon Bérard Centre. Methodologies and applications developed in this area will contribute to WP4.
Hubert Curien Laboratory is a joint research unit from University of Saint-Etienne and CNRS (UMR 5516) with 150 people. The research projects pursued at Hubert Curien Laboratory are organized into two scientific departments: optics/photonics and image processing/computer science/telecom. In the first department the research activity mainly concerns two complementary aspects of photonics: the micro/nano structuring of material to produce new optical elements and the study of radiation-matter interactions for biophotonics or high-precision material processing and synthesis. In the second department the activity covers three main topics: the design of hardware architectures dedicated to cryptography, the development of techniques, algorithms and models for image and video processing or recognition and the study of machine learning algorithms dealing with structured data such as sequences, trees or graphs. In the lab, two research projects focus on biomedical imaging.
